Wall Street status: US stocks slides down by megacaps, while Treasury yields rise

On Wednesday, US Treasury yields increased again.


US market indexes saw a weaker opening on Wednesday, with megacaps like Tesla leading the decline.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 65.4 points, or 0.17%, to 38818.9 at the opening bell. The Nasdaq Composite slid 106.5 points, or 0.65%, to 16226.067, while the S&P 500 fell 18.7 points, or 0.36%, to 5168.98.

Crude oil

As US crude and fuel stocks increased on Wednesday, oil prices dropped. By 1240 GMT, the price of a barrel of Brent crude futures had dropped 97 cents, or 1.2%. At $77.45 per barrel, US West Texas Intermediate crude futures saw a loss of 93 cents, or 1.2%.

On Wednesday, the price of gold remained unchanged.


When 11:27 GMT arrived, spot gold was unchanged at $2,315.98 per ounce. At $2,324.00 per ounce, US gold futures were down 0.01 percent. Spot silver dropped 0.1% to an ounce for $27.24.
