Indian gamers get official route to Official F1® Sim-Racing competition with new national championship!

Indian gamers and aspiring racers will soon be able to compete in the country’s first Official F1® Sim Racing Championship, launched by Formula 1® and Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited.

The F1® Sim Racing India Open 2026 creates a national competitive platform using F1® 25, the official Formula 1® game. Players can compete via PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox. The competition begins with online qualifiers before progressing to city rounds and a national final in Mumbai in November.

India’s first Formula 1® Driver, Narain Karthikeyan, commented, “India has long been central to global growth story of Formula 1®. With 78.8 million fans and a generation raised on F1® gaming, the time is right to introduce an official, competitive Sim Racing Championship here. Mumbai Falcons are the ideal partner, having invested years in building India’s motorsport pipeline. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), one of India’s leading automotive companies, continued its growth momentum in June 2025 with total auto sales of 78,969 vehicles, marking a 14% year-on-year growth, including exports.

Leading this growth was Mahindra’s ever-popular SUV portfolio, which saw 47,306 units sold in the domestic market, reflecting a robust 18% jump compared to June 2024. Including exports, total utility vehicle sales stood at 48,329 units. The brand’s Commercial Vehicle segment also showed resilience, with 20,575 units sold domestically.

Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO – Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., shared his thoughts on the company’s performance:
“In June, we achieved SUV sales of 47,306 units, a growth of 18%, and total vehicle sales of 78,969 units, a 14% growth compared to the same month last year. The quarter ended on a very positive note for us, marking the highest quarter ever for SUVs.”
