Saheb, Biwi aur Gangster 3: With money and power, the royals fight to survive!

Story: It’s the third release of Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster series where the survival of the wittiest and the wealthiest men matters the most. The story revolves around the royal couple, Madhavi Devi and Aditya Pratap Singh who are tested through the power of time and rivalry, with determined plotting, conspiring and backstabbing from people around them.

The real question is: Will they survive to tell the tale?

The quest to survive with power in your hands, makes SBG3 even more interesting for the audience to watch. A detained saheb, a politically ground-breaking biwi and a London based hoodlum, who rakes in huge profits playing the hazardous game of Russian roulette. Director Tigmanshu Dhulia squanders no time in setting the stage for a fierce show of power hungry people, who will do whatever they need to remain in power. The story of this release starts on a new note, and takes an erratic course to show the different facets to the characters.

Driving them all is Queen Madhavi Devi (Mahie Gill), who pulls off a mind boggling role making the audience want more from her with each passing moment. With the will to regain his lost love and glory, his highness Aditya Pratap Singh (Jimmy Sheirgill) comes in. As for Kabir otherwise known as Baba, Sanjay Dutt isn’t exactly the criminal yet to a greater extent a modern bandit, who shows at least a bit of kindness and a temper that for most times spells trouble. He is well-suited for the part, in spite of the fact that he looks a slight bit drained and less royal. Be that as it may, while these three have their errands cut out, the same can’t be said for the other two women in the film. Chitrangada Singh as Suhani looks stunningly excellent however but barring her introduction scene, does little more than slowing down the pace. Soha Ali Khan as Saheb’s biwi no.2 Ranjana is squandered, truly and metaphorically. Rest of the supporting cast – Kabir Bedi, Nafisa Ali and Deepak Tijori are enough given a role as the royal group of Boondigarh.

With a handful of characters, it often becomes difficult to portray each character’s essence, however with such fine script. By and large, with a screenplay like this, SBG3 surely favours to carry forward the legacy!
