Emma Stone drops sweet Taylor Swift reference in Oscars acceptance speech

Now, Bella Baxter from Poor Things, aka Hollywood actress Emma Stone, is a two-time Oscar winner whose incredible success run is truly remarkable. The 35-year-old actress already topped the Best Actress category at the renowned awards ceremony for La La Land and has done it again. She received Best Actress at the 2024 Academy Awards on Sunday, March 10, for the 2023 Yorgos Lanthimos directorial.

Jennifer Lawrence, Charlize Theron, Michelle Yeoh, Sally Field and Jessica Lange, all previous winners, presented her with the trophy.

Although her speech was a rush marathon of appreciation, Stone brilliantly caught her emotional outpour and captivated won hearts. The actress’s speech was as sweet as a box of chocolates; she applauded the remarkable group of women behind her on stage and then shared her award with all the other deserving candidates in the same category.

Stone’s rollercoaster ride of a speech, in which she expressed her love for the Poor Things team and, most importantly, her character, Bella Baxter, eventually circled around her family. Before she completed, she hugged her mother, “Brother Spencer”, her father and her husband, Dave.

Nevertheless, she had to acknowledge her Swiftie status and give a shout-out to her daughter, “who’s gonna be three in three days and has turned (their) lives technicolour,” before leaving the stage. Stone admitted that she loved her daughter “bigger than the whole sky,” alluding to a song by the Grammy winner from her Midnights album.
