Nag Ashwin’s futuristic science fiction film Kalki 2898 AD has easily surpassed the ₹500 crore threshold in India.
The movie, which debuted on June 27 in theaters, has been making a lot of money. On its eleventh day, the Kalki 2898 AD earned approximately ₹41.17 (nett) in India for all languages, according to the portal. As of right now, India has collected ₹506.87 crore in total.
For the second weekend following its release, the sci-fi epic did exceptionally well at the Indian box office.
On June 27, the first day of release, Kalki 2898 AD brought in ₹95.3 crore. At ₹414.85 crore, it was the first week. Day 10 saw the movie earn ₹34.15 crore in sales.
The multilingual 3D spectrum has reached the ₹800 crore club worldwide.
With an estimated budget of ₹600 crore, Nag Ashwin’s ambitious 3D spectacle Kalki 2898 AD is billed as the most costly movie ever made in India. On June 27, the action drama featuring mythology and science fiction was released worldwide in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and English. The ensemble includes Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, and Shobhana.
In a recent press conference, the director said, “I soon realised that fitting four characters into one film was not manageable. It had its challenges. There is a lot of action and backstories that have yet to be explored, and they will be in the sequel. We still have a lot of shooting, even casting for new characters, left to do.”
