Bloom went to The Hoffman Process, a week-long retreat centered on emotional recovery and self-discovery, during this period. Perry claimed that he had gone there and that he had stopped playing the cat and mouse game when he got back, and she had commented on how boring it was. She acknowledged that playing video games at the time led to their separation.

Perry admitted that although the separation was tough for both of them, it was essential. She had to put her personal development and mental well-being first. She said, looking back, “I had to do a lot of real work.” She discovered throughout their separation that she had unfinished business to take care of before getting back together with Bloom.

Perry finally checked herself into The Hoffman Process retreat. She said the encounter totally altered her life. When they were split up at the end of the year, she claimed she eventually visited Hoffman and picked up the tools.
