In the highly anticipated movie Joker: Folie a Deux, Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix have teamed together to offer a musical twist to the big screen. Fans are excited about the decision to make the film into a musical. A recent report on the same indicates that the film’s forthcoming format would largely towards a jukebox musical format. Variety reported that 5 that Gaga and Phoenix will sing at least 15 songs, including beloved tunes like That’s Entertainment from Judy Garland’s renowned musical The Band Wagon.
Insiders also suggest that Lady Gaga will write and perform two original songs, which have the potential to be great contenders for the 2025 Academy Awards. It’s interesting to note that composer Hildur Guonadottir is making a comeback and promises to push beyond the boundaries of the musical genre.
Though the specific details and singers for the tracks are yet unknown, sources revealed that Hildur, the Grammy and Oscar-winning composer, would “infuse her distinctive, haunting [music] cues,” to the movie.

Joker: Folie a Deux’s plot is yet unknown, however, it is known that most of the movie is going to take place at the notorious Arkham Asylum. Dr. Harleen Quinzel, also known as Harley Quinn and Arthur Fleck’s love story is supposed to be the primary focus of the story. The DC film stars Lady Gaga, Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Catherine Keener and Brendan Gleeson in addition to them. On October 4, Joker 2 will be released in theaters.
