Mumbai based band Anand Bhaskar Collective is all set to start their ‘Shukraguzaar Tour’ down south. “This is our way of showing our fans how grateful we are for their love, support and constant faith in us,” says founder and lead vocalist Anand Bhaskar. Ever since the band performed at Hyderabad edition of gig series NH7 Weekender Express earlier this year, members have been flooded with messages to return to the city for another performance. “It would have been unfair to ignore all these requests. We wanted to thank them for having supported us and our music through our ups and downs, and for patiently waiting for our third album (singles from which will release periodically starting August this year). This is us taking our music to them including some songs that we haven’t played live before and our newer compositions as well,” says Bhaskar. The band will travel across five cities – Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mumbai – to treat the audience with best of their compositions. “As for now, we have planned to put two gigs in Hyderabad, and one in the other three cities. However, we are working on adding more dates,” he further added. The band was thinking about the tour for a long time, but it was only after Divya Vishwanathan extended a helping hand that they managed to put things together. The reason we didn’t do a tour across South India was because we didn’t know many event organisers or venues to work it out. When Divya, who kickstarted the up and coming podcast Discover Desi (https://www.instagram.com/discoverdesidv/), offered to help, we were more than happy to work it out,” informs Bhaskar. After the tour, Anand Bhaskar Collective has already started writing and producing their third album.
