Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ album garners highest first-day streams on Spotify
Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé’s latest album, is already breaking records. Spotify stated that the Grammy-winning artist’s country album became its most-streamed album in a single day in 2024 not even 24 hours after it was released. The music giant also stated that it was the first time a country album had held that title this year.
Before the release of Cowboy Carter on Friday, the singer’s song “Texas Hold ‘Em” reached No. 1 on the US Top 50 list after being streamed over 200 million times.
The 27-song country album, which is the second part of a potential trilogy project after 2022’s Renaissance, includes collaborations with Willie Nelson, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Dolly Parton and other artists.
Social media has been exploding with fan reactions to Beyoncé’s much-awaited project, which is her first studio album of that genre since it was announced. It’s also a very special project for the singer, who has previously said that she didn’t feel “welcome” in the country space scene when she tried to enter the genre.
Taking to Instagram earlier this month, she penned, “This genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me. Act ii is a result of challenging myself, and taking my time to bend and blend genres together to create this body of work.”
