Pushpa 2: The Rule mints a phenomenal ₹294 crore globally on day 1

Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule had paid premieres throughout India on the evening of December 4 before going live in theaters on December 5. The movie’s crew reports that on its first day of release, it brought in ₹294 crore worldwide.

According to Sacnilk.com, Pushpa 2 made ₹10.65 crore net during its premiere and ₹164.25 crore net on its first day of release, for a total of ₹174.9 crore net and ₹209.2 crore gross on the first day in India. The movie’s crew revealed on Friday night that it made ₹294 crore at the box office. Considering that RRR’s global box office receipts of ₹223 crore already set a record for the largest opening for an Indian film, these are enormous figures.

On its first day of release, it set a number of records, becoming the first movie to earn over ₹50 crore net on the same day in both Telugu and Hindi and the highest opening at the Indian box office ever with ₹209 crore gross. By surpassing Jawan, the movie has the highest opening for a Hindi-dubbed picture and the highest opening for a Hindi film overall, with a gross of ₹72 crore. It also beat Kalki 2898 AD to have the largest opening for an Indian film abroad.

The story features Pushpa Raj, a red-sanders smuggler who takes control of the syndicate in an attempt to win respect. Bhanwar Singh Shekawat, his police officer and half-brother, still won’t give it to him, though. What unfurls next can be explored in the movie at the theaters.
