Golmaal Again Movie Review

Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal series comes with two sort of buffs-one can’t get enough of it and the rest feels it illogical. If a spectator falls in the first category, the movies is packed of nostalgic events and for the rest of them, the director has added elements of horror, revenge and even a storyline after a patient watch-over of an hour.

The fourth part of the series starts with Tabu narrating the childhood stores of Madhav-Gopal and gang and their encounter with Jamunadas.

Rohit took enough time to build up the story and there aren’t much jokes or punchlines to keep the audience entertained while the story goes on. It is when ghosts enter the scene that people could have a laugh out of it. The spirit chasing the gang possess several characters who even recites lullabies to Gopal (Ajay) whenever he is scared of ghosts.

The supernatural element in the movie makes it a refreshing narrative. It is interesting to watch Tabu talking to spirits and pulling punches with a straight face.

Amusingly, before ghosts enter the scene, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar and Kunal use technology to make people believe their houses being haunted.

The romantic angle between Ajay and Parineeti is offensive. It contains elements of paedophilia and the filmmakers want us to laugh at the hint of pedophilic relationship.

Lucky (Tusshar) did spoke in the film when possessed by a ghost but he was much better with his silent jokes. Neil Nitin Mukesh seems to be playing the role of a mean and greedy personality. The film debut for Parineeti, Neil Nitin and Taby reconciles everything that people forgot and remember from the earlier movies.

The characters of Golmaal- Vasooli Bhai (Mukesh Tiwari), Pappi Bahai (Johnny Lever), Paandu (Vrijesh Hirjee), Inspector Dande (Murli Sharma), Babli Bhai (Sanjay Mishra), they all offer an extreme spark of laughter throughout the film.

This time Rohit has used his flagship genre comedy scarcely and relies mainly on supernatural elements to make thing look funny.
