Alia Bhatt finally made it to Cannes. The actor starred on the second-last day and served well with her amazing looks. She wore a light yellow gown embellished with flower motifs.

Alia posted a glimpse of her special look at her Instagram Stories. The black-and-white pictures featured a beautiful ensemble.

Alia had previously expressed her excitement over her Cannes debut on Instagram Stories. She shared a snippet of her Gucci bag filled with books, beauty products etc, with the phrase ‘I’m worth it’ written over it. She wrote, “Off we go…”

Alia’s appearance was much anticipated especially after the rumor that the actor might skip the event post the Pahalgam terror attack amidst India-Pakistan relations.

Alia Bhatt is bracing to be a part of the red carpet event at the coveted Cannes Film Festival 2025. The actress was expected to join the opening ceremony, and destined to fly out to the French Riviera tonight.

Nonetheless, according to a Mid-Day report, Alia has decided on the eleventh hour to not leave the country due to incumbent cross-border tensions with Pakistan. Post this her team has been reevaluating her travel engagements amidst the escalation.

A source mentioned to the outlet: “The festival is 11 days long. Of course, there were several activities planned around her today and tomorrow, but she is still contemplating if she can make it in the coming days. It will also depend on her schedule back home.”

Alia was destined to attend as the Global Ambassador of a luxury beauty brand. She was expected to arrive at the gala alongside Eva Longoria, Viola Davis, Jane Fonda, Aja Naomi King, Andie MacDowell, Simone Ashley, Elle Fanning, Bebe Vio, and Yseult.

On the work front, Bhatt will be seen in Alpha, an action spy thriller directed by Shiv Rawail. The film will be released on December 25, 2025, making it the first ever female-led project in Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe. Bhatt will play a top-level intelligence agent gauging geopolitical threats, with Sharvari Wagh, Vicky Kaushal, and Bobby Deol.

Cannes 2025 is back again brimming with the cinematic charm of the Indian counterpart. The gala is set for a special screening of Oscar winning-filmmaker Satyajit Ray’s Aranyer Din Ratri and Anupam Kher’s directorial project, Tanvi The Great.

Here is a glance of Indian films that is set to present its aura on the global scale.

Aranyer Din Ratri

Legendary director Satyajit Ray’s Aranyer Din Ratri, starring Sharmila Tagore and Soumitra Chatterjee in lead roles, will be premiered at Cannes.

The Film Heritage Foundation mentioned that they have revived a 4K version of the vintage 1970 film for the film festival.

The Instagram post read, “Satyajit Ray’s masterpiece Aranyer Din Ratri (Days and Nights in the Forest, 1970) restored by The Film Foundation’s World Cinema Project at L’Immagine Ritrovata in collaboration with Film Heritage Foundation, Janus Films, and The Criterion Collection.”

Veteran star Sharmila Tagore will be part of the screening with other case along with Simi Garewal.

Tanvi The Great

Anupam Kher’s Tanvi The Great will be released on the theatres soon, however will be screened in advance at the festival on May 17. Anupam has been brimming with excitement for his venture at Cannes.

The film also stars Karan Tacker, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, and Arvind Swami in important roles. It also stars Game of Thrones fame Iain Glen.

Homebound

Filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound, featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, will be featured at the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. The project will be screened at the Un Certain Regard section, a specialised segment channelised for artistic cinema from across the world.

Charak

Charak, helmed by Sheiladitya Moulik, will reflect the conventional plot of the Bengali Charak Puja custom backed with the visible theme of blind faith.

Backed by the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) production, the film will be screened at the prestigious festival. Helmed and penned by Kokob Gebrehaweria Tesfay, an Ethiopian student at SRFTI, the film with a 23-minute runtime will be a part of the La Cinef section. The segment celebrates the work of students in the field of filmmaking from across the globe.

Kiara Advani had graced the Met Gala carpet with a baby bump, capturing global attention. As per India TV, mom-to-be Kiara Advani, who recently debuted in Met Gala is probably destined to appear at the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

Previously, Advani made her maiden walk at the Cannes Film Festival 2024. She was spotted in a satin ivory satin gown designed by Prabal Gurung, donning a plunging neckline, thigh-high slit, and a beautiful long train.

The attire was complemented with a set of pearl earrings, a gold bracelet, and white stilettos. The actress was styled by Lakshmi Lehr featuring a concoction of fashion, and the glory of the French Riviera.
