Is Nayanthara trapped in legal trouble again with the Chandramukhi producers?

Post an open argument with actor Dhanush, Nayanthara was tangled in litigation process. She is now being accused once more of failing to obtain a NOC from the producers of Rajinikanth’s Chandramukhi.

Industry insider Manobala Vijayabalan recently reported that the Chandramukhi producers granted the actress and her production business, Rowdy Pictures, a No-Objection Certificate. On November 2, 2024, Sivaji Productions, the film’s producers, granted them the NOC, according to the tweeted information.

The filmmakers of her documentary wanted to include footage from the movie because the couple supposedly began dating on the set.

Dhanush filed a lawsuit against Nayanthara and her production company, demanding a large sum of money in compensation, because the documentary used footage from the movie’s sets. When the actress wrote an open letter denouncing the actor, the argument between them became public.

Nonetheless, the BTS footage was included in the documentary available on Netflix.

Despite their disagreement over the Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, actors Nayanthara and Dhanush attended producer Aakash Baskaran’s wedding on Thursday and paid little attention to one another.

A video of Nayanthara attending the wedding with her hair up in a bun and wearing a pink saree was shared by the security company. Additionally, Vignesh wore a traditional white veshti. After posing for a few photos, the actor sat in the front row of the wedding and engaged in conversation with other guests. Shortly after, the camera panned to Dhanush, who is seated on the opposite end of the aisle in the front row.

People found it humorous that the actors were seated next to each other while ignoring each other’s presence in the video, which quickly went viral on X (previously Twitter). Someone even shared a photo of Sivakarthikeyan with Vignesh and Nayanthara, referring to them as Dhanush’s “nightmares.”

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander was also spotted at the event.

The ultimate fuss

It all started when Nayanthara called out Dhanush on Instagram in an open letter for failing to provide her permission to use Naaanum Rowdy Dhaan’s footage in her documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale. They fell in love when they saw Nayanthara in the lead role of Vignesh’s Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. She further asserted that he had sued them for ₹10 crore for a three-second teaser behind-the-scenes video.

Even though Dhanush stayed silent on the claim, his father Kasthuri Raja told Tamil Samayam, “Work is important to us. We are moving forward. We don’t have time to answer those who chase us or talk behind our backs. Much like me, my son is focused only on his work.”

Nayanthara recently caused a stir on the internet after releasing an open letter accusing Tamil star Dhanush of copyright infringement. Many of the actor’s previous co-stars, such as Shruti Haasan and Nazriya Nazim, have offered their support to her in the wake of her remark.

Other prominent women from Dhanush’s earlier films, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Anupama Parameswaran, expressed solidarity by liking an official Instagram post that Nayanthara posted. Parvathy Thiruvothu also showed her support for the actress by reposting the post on her Instagram story.

Actor Dhanush K. Raja was recently accused by Nayanthara of copyright infringement for material used in her upcoming Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale. Nayanthara disclosed in her open letter that the documentary’s producers had been attempting to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) in order to use images from her movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.

Nayanthara and her now-husband Vignesh Shivan collaborated for the first time on the Dhanush-produced movie. But even after two years and numerous demands for a NOC, the video has not been released.

Additionally, the documentary’s creators decided to include personal phone footage of behind-the-scenes (BTS) from the Naanum Rowdy Dhaan sets. But as Nayanthara’s open letter disclosed, Dhanush’s attorneys have sued her, claiming copyright infringement and requesting ₹10 crores in damages.

The actress reportedly released an open letter in response to these events, and it has since received strong backing from a number of industry insiders.

The actor Nayanthara informed her admirers via social media that her account on X, formerly known as Twitter, had been hacked. She also warned her followers to exercise caution when they see odd or strange tweets coming from her account.

Nayanthara posted on X, “Account has been hacked. Please ignore any unnecessary or strange tweets being posted.”

Her supporters are concerned and curious about the security of her internet presence in light of the abrupt update.

“How come a verified account is hacked? @elonmusk what safety you assure us for this blue tick?” a fan wrote, while another added, “Just got shocked after seeing this tweet and not only yours, also simbu’s account got hacked it seems”.

A user wrote, “How is it possible? You r verified account then how?”, said another, “shocking”.

Nayanthara will next appear in the film Test, starring Siddharth and R Madhavan. In addition, she has a few other films in the works, including Maharani, Mookuthi Amman 2, Good Bad Ugly, and Thani Oruvan 2.
