Thudarum set to cross Rs 110 crore mark with great support at the Kerala box office

Mohanlal’s recent film, Thudarum, is enjoying a terrific run at the box office. The film released on April 25, complete its fourth weekend with positive reviews. The Tharun Moorthy helmed added another Rs 2 crore to the net earnings in its fourth Sunday.

If the pace continues, the film will easily mint Rs 110 crore mark gross in Kerala. The Mohanlal starrer is currently bracing through the new releases. The movie is set to face the Tovino Thomas’ Narivetta from upcoming weekend. If the movie holds firm in its 5th week, it has the possibility to earn over Rs 125 crore gross.

The story is about Shanmugham, a taxi driver who adores his prized possession, a black ambassador. One day his asset goes missing and thereby a stressful journey begins in its quest.

Mohanlal and Sobhana’s Thudarum is indeed not slowing down. The film emerged as the highest-grossing film in Kerala and simultaneously as the third-highest-grossing Malayalam film in just few days. As per a Sacnilk report the film has crossed the ₹100 crore mark.

Thudarum box office figures seems terrific

The report added that Thudarum minted ₹2.24 crore on its 18th day, adding on ₹51.4 crore in its first week. It also stayed consistent on its second week, with ₹ 35.35 crore. The net collection has now surpassed ₹ 100.92 crore.

About Thudarum

Thudarum features the story of a taxi driver named Shanmugham ‘Benz’ who lives a simple, basic life until his prized possession, his car goes missing. His journey to find the car beyond the limits is explored thereafter. The film marks the reunion of superstars Shobana with Mohanlal after 15 years.

In conversation with Hindustan Times, director Tharun Moorthy mentioned that Mohanlal expressed his thanks to him for the success, “He thanked me for my hard work and sent me a message saying, ‘Thank you, I love you, and God bless you.’ He has a lot of gratitude and is very thankful to everyone. He is a superstar, a kind of a brand in the film industry, and is still thanking and showing you a loving, caring attitude. That’s the kind of personality he is. The only thing I wanted from him was a kiss and a hug, and I got it”.

Thudarum Box office growth

Backed by Rejaputhra Visual Media, the film is cherishing an amazing run at the box office. The movie which is already touted a blockbuster have noted a good occupancy on Day 12, i.e. second Tuesday with an earning of Rs 4.50 crore gross in the domicile state.

The total figures surpassed the Rs 75 crore mark, by minting Rs 76.30 crore gross in Kerala alone. The Mohanlal starrer is all set to become the first ever film to reach the Rs 100 crore club at the Mollywood box office.

The film which have received 8.2 rating on IMDb features the story of Shanmugham, a taxi driver who falls for his black ambassador car. However, due to unanticipated reasons, his car goes missing and his personality witnessed a whirlwind of changes as he ventures in search for it.

Nag Ashwin’s futuristic science fiction film Kalki 2898 AD has easily surpassed the ₹500 crore threshold in India.

Box office mania

The movie, which debuted on June 27 in theaters, has been making a lot of money. On its eleventh day, the Kalki 2898 AD earned approximately ₹41.17 (nett) in India for all languages, according to the portal. As of right now, India has collected ₹506.87 crore in total.

For the second weekend following its release, the sci-fi epic did exceptionally well at the Indian box office.

On June 27, the first day of release, Kalki 2898 AD brought in ₹95.3 crore. At ₹414.85 crore, it was the first week. Day 10 saw the movie earn ₹34.15 crore in sales.

The multilingual 3D spectrum has reached the ₹800 crore club worldwide.

There is a lot of action and backstories that have yet to be explored, and they will be in the sequel. We still have a lot of shooting, even casting for new characters, left to do.”
