Riya Sen is a Bollywood actress. Riya, who comes from a family of actors including her grandmother Suchitra Sen, mother Moon Moon Sen and sister Raima Sen. Her debut as a child actress was in movie Vishkanya in 1991. Riya’s first success in her film career was with Style. Some of her other notable films include Jhankaar Beats, Shaadi No. 1 and Malayalam horror film Ananthabhadram.
She was first recognised as a model when she performed in Falguni Pathak’s music video Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi. Since then, she appeared in many music videos, television commercials, fashion shows, and on magazine covers. She is a good human being as she helped raise funds for pediatric eye-care. Currently she is doing more Bengali Movies than Hindi.

Google search displays your name in star cast of Kung Fu Yoga, is it true?
Riya: I’m not doing any film called Kung fu yoga!
You featured in many popular singers song. Which is your favorite?
Riya: I love every music video that I have featured in.
You established yourself as a bold actress, was it really you wanted to be or its industry/script’s demand always?
Riya: I haven’t established myself as a bold actor, what is so bold about the films that I have till now?
Please tell us little bit about your struggling days? or was it a smooth journey so far.
Riya: I am still struggling, it’s a long journey I guess.
What do you do when not working?
Riya: When I’m not working I travel, spend time with family, friends, I exercise and cook.
How was your experience working in Dark chocolate?
Riya: Working on ‘Dark Chocolate’, turned out to be quite a clinical experience for me. I was told that the character was inspired by the recently deceased Sheena Bora. Having not known her and given the paucity of research material available on her, I’m not sure whether I actually represented who she was as a person. What I did do was follow the director’s brief and kept the consistency of that character intact. I was only given my lines a day or two before the shoot, so there wasn’t really time to do much else.
What projects you are currently working on?
Riya: Next project is ‘Senapati’ directed by Ringo Banerjee opposite Parambrata. The first mafia based film to be shot in Bengal.
What is your favorite daily wear attire?
Riya: I like to keep it simple.
