1,553 Women Complete 4,727 AI Tasks in 2.5 Hours at Tata AI Sakhi Program

In a large-scale demonstration of AI adoption at the grassroots level, 1,553 women artisans and entrepreneurs completed 4,727 AI-powered tasks during the Tata AI Sakhi Immersion Program held at the India AI Impact Summit 2026.

The program, convened by the Tata Group and anchored by Tata Consultancy Services, followed a structured cohort system and a high-touch mentorship model with a 1:5 mentor-participant ratio.

Women from Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Delhi NCR participated in the immersion. The advanced cohort achieved a 98% completion rate.

Artisans used AI tools to create new design concepts and product imagery, while self-help group members used applications for document translation, marketing content creation and scheme navigation. Digitally advanced entrepreneurs leveraged AI for self-learning and business scaling.

Aarthi Subramanian, ED & COO, TCS, said, “It’s very heartening to witness thousands of women from across the country participating in the Tata AI Sakhi Immersion Program. At Tata Group and TCS, we firmly believe that technological advancement must go hand in hand with the parallel progress of communities. Through the Tata AI Sakhi Immersion Program, we are on a journey to encourage and empower thousands of women artisans and entrepreneurs in rural India to harness the power of AI, not just as a tool, but as a force to unlock creativity, expand opportunities, and build sustainable livelihoods. This is our vision of inclusive growth, where technology becomes a bridge to shared prosperity and a stronger, self-sustaining India.”
