From Sheer Khurma to Shrikhand: Air India brings festive India onboard

Passengers flying with Air India this festive season will get more than just a journey — they will get a taste of India’s cultural diversity.

The airline has rolled out a festive menu across its flights and lounges, celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr, Navratri and Gudi Padwa through traditional dishes.

On 20 March 2026, travellers across all Air India flights will be served Sheer Khurma, a dessert closely associated with Eid celebrations. The dish will be available across all cabins and routes.

The airline has integrated the dessert into its main meal service on flights with multiple meal cycles, ensuring consistency across its network.

Festivities extend to airport lounges as well. At Delhi International Airport, the Maharaja Lounge is serving a Navratri thali featuring fasting-friendly dishes such as Sabudana Khichdi and Kheer.

In Mumbai, the Adani Lounge marked Gudi Padwa with sweets like Shrikhand and Gujiya, and will follow it up with an elaborate Eid spread including biryani, kebabs and desserts on 21 March.

“This initiative reflects Air India’s ongoing focus on enhancing customer experience by blending service excellence with India’s cultural richness, creating meaningful, immersive moments for customers across its global network.”
