Locks & Architectural Solutions, a business of the Godrej Enterprises Group, has identified sustainable design as the defining force in urban architecture, drawing insights from Season 3 of its flagship knowledge-sharing platform, VC Live, under the Godrej Value Co-Creators Club (GVCC).
The five-episode series brought together architects, urban designers, and enthusiasts, generating strong engagement and poll-based findings. Safety emerged as the top priority for urban livability, followed by pedestrian-friendly streets and public transport. Yet, the highest demand was for parks and green spaces, reflecting the public’s growing push for ecological balance in urban development.
Sustainability dominated the discussions, with 51% of participants emphasizing that design approach has the greatest impact on sustainability, surpassing materials or energy efficiency. Additionally, 60% cited sustainable design as the most crucial factor shaping the future of architecture. Green and open spaces (41%) and climate-resilient infrastructure ranked highest among priorities for tomorrow’s cities.
Mr. Shyam Motwani, Business Head – Locks & Architectural Solutions, Godrej Enterprises Group, said,
“Through VC Live, we aim to connect global thought leaders with India’s design and architecture community, sparking conversations that inspire real change. The overwhelming feedback from our community shows a clear and urgent call for design that protects our planet, nurtures human connections, and boldly reimagines how our cities can work for everyone. The strong participation and engagement we’ve seen not only validate the relevance of this dialogue but also reinforce our responsibility to champion these ideas.”
The VC Live series continues to drive dialogue on sustainable urbanism and future-ready architecture, offering exclusive insights, reports, and recognition for the design community through initiatives like the GeeVees Awards.
