High Court-Ordered Searches Uncover Fake ‘JOY’ Personal Care Products in Delhi Markets

Three simultaneous raids conducted under the directions of the Delhi High Court led to the seizure of allegedly infringing cosmetic products imitating the JOY personal care brand from multiple locations in Delhi.

The raids were carried out by Local Commissioners appointed by the Court at two premises in Sadar Bazar and one in Dilshad Garden, following a trademark and copyright infringement suit filed by Joy Creators LLP. During the operation, large quantities of cosmetic products, packaging materials and promotional items bearing deceptively similar branding to JOY were recovered.

The Local Commissioners prepared detailed inventories and photographic documentation of the seized material. Despite resistance at some locations, the process was completed as per court orders, and the counterfeit goods were sealed in accordance with legal procedures.

The matter will now proceed for further consideration before the Delhi High Court.

Commenting on the seizures, Sunil Agarwal, Co-founder & Chairman, Joy Personal Care (RSH Global), said,
“Counterfeit products violate intellectual property rights and pose serious risks to consumer safety and trust. At JOY, honesty, trust, and consumer well-being are non-negotiable, and we take the responsibility seriously that Indian households have placed in us over decades. Strict enforcement and timely legal action are essential to protect consumers and preserve brand integrity. We appreciate the decisive action taken pursuant to the Hon’ble Delhi High Court’s directions, and we will continue to support the authorities wherever required to prevent such incidents.
