A new K-beauty secret that’s making waves on the internet is a rice flour mask that claims to give users “glass skin,” or the smooth, poreless complexion that Korean women are known for. Influencer in the beauty industry Nriti S recently revealed the recipe for the well-liked Korean rice flour mask.
“So, I have been trying the viral Korean mask for glass skin for the last two weeks and the results are astounding. You need two tablespoons of rice flour, two tablespoons of yoghurt or raw milk, and one tablespoon of honey. Mix it well and apply it over your face. Leave it on for 10 minutes and wash it off. You can seriously see the difference in just two weeks,” she said.
The viral mask consisting of rice flour, honey, and yoghurt has multiple skin benefits, according to Dr. DM Mahajan, senior specialist in dermatology at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Delhi in coversation with Indian Express .

“The rice flour works as a natural exfoliator, removing dead skin cells, unclogging pores, and improving skin texture. Yoghurt, on the other hand, includes lactic acid which promotes gentle exfoliation and aids in the removal of hyperpigmentation. Furthermore, honey is a natural humectant, which helps retain moisture in the skin, keeping it hydrated and supple,” he mentioned.
Dr Henna Sharma, consultant dermatology at Yatharth Hospital, Noida Extension stated, “The viral mask effectively reduces oiliness and shine. It also soothes irritation and redness, offering a calming effect. With antimicrobial and lactic acid content, the mask may also contribute to the improvement of acne-prone skin”.
Dermatologists have a word of caution

“The exfoliating characteristics of rice flour and the acidic nature of yoghurt might be too harsh for some skin types,” Dr Mahajan added. “A patch test is necessary to avoid skin irritation or allergic reactions, especially for people with sensitive skin.”
“While the face mask can offer certain benefits for healthy skin, particularly hydration, exfoliation and oil control, it is not a substitute for professional dermatological treatments, a consistent skincare routine and proper nutrition,” Dr Sharma further elucidated. “Remember that consistency and a well-rounded skincare routine are your best bets for a radiant complexion.”
