Pune’s evolving food culture got a global nod this week as the DLC Guide – an independent rating system for fine-dining restaurants and luxury hotels – launched its Pune edition, spotlighting eight of the city’s standout dining destinations.
The guide, founded by entrepreneur Jimmy Mistry and inspired by the likes of the Michelin and Forbes ratings, has already made its mark in cities like New York, London, Dubai, and Mumbai. Now, with its arrival in Pune, it hopes to celebrate the city’s growing culinary ambition and the chefs driving it.
At a formal launch held in the city, government officials including Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram and District Collector Jitendra Dudi joined industry leaders and chefs to unveil the Pune list.
Restaurants that made the cut include Tao-Fu and Alto Vino from JW Marriott, Ukiyo and Aasmana from The Ritz-Carlton, and homegrown favourites like Mocha and AL DI LA. Each was recognised not just for taste, but for consistently creating memorable dining experiences.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Jimmy Mistry, Chairman and Managing Director, Della Group, said, “Hospitality isn’t just about serving a great meal or designing a plush space—it’s about creating experiences that touch lives, spark conversations, and build legacies. With the DLC Guide, we’re not just recognising excellence, we’re raising the bar for the world to follow. I believe in cutting through noise with clarity and purpose—this guide is our bold step towards a more honest, inspiring, and entrepreneur-led future for the industry.”
The DLC Guide prides itself on being community-audited and free from commercial bias. With over 50 restaurants featured globally and a growing panel of expert auditors, the guide aims to raise the bar for hospitality, one city at a time.
