Apollo Hospitals makes major push in Western India with Pune based care launch

Apollo Hospitals has marked a significant expansion of its national network with the inauguration of a new quaternary care hospital in Swargate, Pune, its third facility in Maharashtra. The hospital starts with 250 beds and will scale to 400 beds in line with regional healthcare needs.

Chairman Dr. Prathap C Reddy said the hospital reinforces Apollo’s mission of accessible, affordable and globally benchmarked healthcare. The leadership team emphasised that Pune’s growing population and economic activity make it a strategic location for the group’s expansion plans.

The hospital brings together advanced surgical robotics, integrated ICUs, neonatal and pediatric critical care, precision oncology, transplant programs and digital platforms for care continuity. Smart hospital features—including IoT-based monitoring and app-based access—are designed to enhance patient experience.

CEO & President Dr. Madhu Sasidhar said the facility’s design prioritises safety science and evidence-based practice, while Pune CEO Dr. Manisha Karmarkar underscored Apollo’s commitment to supporting the city’s innovation-led growth.
