Common mistakes which cause premature greying of hair

Our hair is one of the most important yet least valued parts of our bodies. Since it defines the overall style of our appearance, hair plays a significant role in improving our personalities. It is a natural process for our hair to ultimately turn grey as we age, but if we notice grey hair at a young age, it can lead to anxiety. Here, we’ll look at some common mistakes we all make which can result in greying of hair at a young age.

Not oiling our hair

The most common mistake that can cause hair to turn grey is not applying oil to it. The health of the hair is also affected by the scalp receiving insufficient nutrients or being too dry. In this case, oiling the hair at least once a week is vital for maintaining the health and black colour of the hair.

Too much sun exposure

One of the main reasons why hair might turn grey too soon is spending too much time in the sun. Being in the sun for a long amount of time can cause damage to our hair and scalp, leading to dry and grey hair. This is because the UV rays that the sun produces are not only harmful to our skin but also to our hair.

Using chemical products

Chemical products undoubtedly affect the hair. These chemicals can cause not just hair loss, but also graying of the hair.

Smoking

One of the key factors contributing to premature greying of hair is smoking. Smoking is bad for our hair. Cigarette smoke contains chemicals that can damage our hair follicles and cause grey hair.
