The NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex increased 0.69 percent and 0.51 percent for the week, respectively, marking the strongest such run in three months as the markets continued their winning run for a fourth week in a row. Over the course of four weeks, the benchmarks increased by roughly 3% apiece.

Simultaneously, the overall underperformance persisted, with the smallcap losing almost three percent and the midcap index staying in a range.
“The momentum in domestic equities can persist till elections as history suggests,” Ambit Capital analysts stated. According to them, the only industry with somewhat good valuations when compared to the Nifty 50 is banking.
Mid-cap stocks increased by 0.36 percent, while the larger, more domestically oriented small-caps fell by 2.18 percent.

Due to its intention to demerge into two publicly traded companies that will manage its passenger and commercial car divisions, Tata Motors saw a 6.33 percent increase this week.
