On Wednesday, Adani Green Energy announced that its 180 MW solar power project in Devikot, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, was now operating.

According to a statement by Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), the biggest renewable energy firm in India, the facility has a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

With the plant’s successful commissioning, AGEL now has 6,243 MW of operational solar power, making its overall operational renewable generation capacity the greatest in India at 9,784 MW, the statement continued.

Water conservation in the arid Jaisalmer region is made possible by the plant’s waterless robotic module cleaning technologies.

With an annual production capacity of over 540 million energy units, the 180-MW solar plant in Rajasthan would power over 1.1 lakh houses and offset about 0.39 million tonnes of CO2 emissions.

Horizontal single-axis solar trackers (HSAT) and next-generation bifacial solar PV modules have been implemented to maximize production by tracking the sun continuously and improving module efficiency.

AGEL’s renewable energy assets can be monitored in real time thanks to the Energy Network Operation Centre (ENOC), which is based on a secure digital cloud platform and improves operational performance.
