The Election Commission released the third list of SBI Electoral bonds data on Thursday, March 21. According to PTI, Qwik Supply Chain Private Ltd, the third largest donor to political parties using electoral bonds, paid ₹395 crore to the BJP and ₹25 crore to the Shiv Sena. The little-known business has ties to Reliance Industries, owned by Mukesh Ambani, and is registered at Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City (DAKC) in Navi Mumbai, according to PTI.

Between 2021–2022 and 2023–2024, the corporation purchased electoral bonds totaling ₹410 crore. The Shiv Sena received the remaining sum in 2022, PTI claims.

All bonds, with the exception of ₹25 crore, were donated to the BJP.

Relationship between Qwik Supply Chain and the Reliance Group

On April 8, 2021, Honeywell Properties Private Ltd, a company with a Reliance connection, along with Qwik Supply Chain, bought bonds totaling ₹30 crore and delivered them all to the BJP.

In response to rumours that Qwik Supply Chain was associated with Reliance, a representative for Reliance Industries stated, “Qwik Supply Chain Pvt Ltd is not a subsidiary of any Reliance entity.” In 2021–2022, it purchased electoral bonds for political parties in the amount of ₹360 crore. Its net profit for the same year was just ₹21.72 crore. It invested an additional ₹50 crore in bonds during 2023–2024.

The two highest donations were provided by Qwik Supply Chain (₹966 crore) and Future Gaming and Hotel Services (₹1,368 crore), both situated in Hyderabad.

Executive board

Tapas Mitram has been a director of Qwik Supply Chain for the longest period of time among the three directors. He is a director of Jamnagar Kandla Pipeline Company Pvt Ltd and Reliance Eros Productions LLP, two partnership firms.

Reliance Paging Pvt Ltd, Jamnagar Ratlam Pipeline Pvt Ltd, Reliance Tankages Pvt Ltd, and Reliance Oil and Petroleum Pvt Ltd all share the same address as the Jamnagar Kandla Pipeline, which is registered in Ahmedabad.

Since December 10, 2019, Vipul Pranlal Mehta has served as a director on the Qwik board of directors. In addition, he is a director of eight additional businesses, one of which is named Rel Icons and Traders Pvt Ltd.

The most recent director to be selected, Sridhar Titti, will join the board on November 27, 2023.
