The government on Monday allowed the import of urea (agri-grade) through India Potash Ltd. for an additional year, till March 2025.
In accordance with a notification from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), “importers may use Indian Potash Ltd. to import agricultural grade urea on government accounts until March 31, 2025.”
In this fiscal year, urea imports totaled USD 1.81 billion from April to January. The largest importers of fertilizer are Russia, Oman, and China.
