More than 98% of pilots have signed their new contracts, according to Vistara CEO Vinod Kannan, who stated on Saturday that the airline intends to stabilize operations for this month by this weekend.
The lack of staff availability earlier this week caused a major interruption to the full service carrier’s operations, resulting in numerous cancelled flights. Kannan stated in a statement that the situation has already improved and that for the past three days, its on-time performance has improved.

“We hope to stabilise our operations for the rest of April 2024 by this weekend,” he added. According to Kannan, “over 98% of pilots have signed the new contract,” and the airline is interacting with them to address and allay their worries.
As reported by Moneycntrol, a portion of pilots have expressed reservations with the new contract, which will result in a salary modification. Kannan claims that the airline is continuing to hire additional pilots while taking a war-like approach to the current circumstances. In order to provide the rosters a buffer and the much-needed resiliency, the airline is also cautiously cutting back on activities, he said.
