Starting at Rs 100, Axis Mutual Fund’s Micro-Investment™ Makes Investing Less Intimidating for Beginners

Axis Mutual Fund has introduced Micro-Investment™, a feature aimed at easing new investors into the world of mutual funds by enabling them to begin with small-ticket SIPs starting at ₹100 per scheme. The initiative targets millions of Indians who remain hesitant due to the complexity and perceived risk associated with investing.

The company said the feature works like a “sample-first” model. Investors can diversify with minimal capital, observe performance, understand risk and develop confidence over time. With ₹1,000, users can test 10 different schemes—an approach that Axis believes will create practical financial education.

“Investing should be accessible and educational,” said B Gopkumar, MD & CEO of Axis AMC. “Micro-Investment™ empowers every Indian to start small and aim big.”

Available through the Axis Mutual Fund website, the feature offers guided scheme exploration and a simplified three-click onboarding process. It is currently restricted to monthly SIPs in eligible schemes.

Axis Mutual Fund said the launch is part of its broader push to democratise investing and address behavioural barriers that often lead to inaction among first-time participants.
