NMDC increases iron ore rates by Rs 400 per tonne

On April 29, the state-owned mining giant NMDC raised the price of iron by Rs 400 per tonne for lump ore variety and Rs 200 for a comparable amount of fines, effective April 27.

The modification has resulted in a tonne of lump ore costing Rs 6,200 and fines of Rs 5,260. The change comes one month after iron prices were lowered by Rs 200 per tonne for lump ore varieties and Rs 250 for a comparable amount of fines.

NMDC last lowered iron ore prices in March.

The company stated in a filing that these are FOR pricing inclusive of royalties, DMF, and NMET and exclusive of cess, forest permit charge, transit fee, GST, environment cess, and other taxes.

On April 29, the company’s shares ended the day 1.12% lower on the BSE at Rs 254.90 a share.
