Effective from 6 a.m. on March 15, state-owned Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have lowered the national price of gasoline and diesel by Rs 2 per liter.

Diesel will be sold in Delhi for Rs 87.62 per litre, while petrol would now cost Rs 94.72 per litre, down from Rs 96.72 previously. The move by the OMCs comes ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in the country.

Earlier, demand for fuel boosted petrol states in the nation, as witnessed by oil companies.

“Reduction in petrol and diesel prices will boost consumer spending and reduce operating costs for over 58 lakh heavy goods vehicles running on diesel, 6 crore cars and 27 crore two-wheelers,” Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas mentioned in their official X account, formerly known as Twitter.
