The 200 MW solar project was won by the state-owned electricity company SJVN Ltd’s subsidiary SJVN Green Energy in an e-Reverse Auction run by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam on Sunday.

According to a corporate release, SJVN Green Energy would create this project at a cost of Rs 1,100 crore on a build-own-and-operate basis.

The 1,125 MW Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) Solar Park at Khavda, Gujarat, was the site of a tariff-based competitive bidding process where SJVN won the 200 MW capacity.

5,74,868 tonnes less carbon emissions are anticipated after this project is put into service.

In an e-Reverse Auction run by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), SJVN, through its wholly-owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), secured a 200 MW Solar Project at a tariff of Rs 2.66 per unit.

Geeta Kapur, the managing director and chairman of SJVN, stated that the project is anticipated to produce roughly 504 million units of energy in its first year of operation and 11,732 million units of energy in total during a 25-year period.

SJVN, a prominent power cooperative, is making significant progress toward realizing its joint goal of producing 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040.
