India’s Global Capability Center (GCC) workforce is projected to hit 3.46 million by 2030, creating 1.3 million new jobs, driven by aggressive AI adoption, according to NLB Services’ latest report.
The study notes that 58% of GCCs have moved beyond AI pilots, with 2026 alone expected to see an 11% jump in hiring, pushing the workforce to 2.4 million. Nearly 70% of GCCs are investing in GenAI, and most plan to establish AI governance teams by next year.
NLB CEO Sachin Alug said India is transitioning from delivery hubs to AI-led enterprises, triggering a major talent reset. New AI roles are rising as older IT support and manual QA jobs decline.
The sector’s footprint is also shifting, with Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities set to absorb 0.715 million new jobs by 2030 due to cost and talent advantages.
NLB says India is on track to become a global AI engineering and governance hub over the next five years.
