Pune’s motorsport fans witnessed a night of adrenaline and celebration as the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) Season 2 kicked off in spectacular style at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi. With engines roaring and lights blazing, home team BB Racing stole the show, emerging as the overall winner of Round 1.
The season opener of the world’s first franchise-based Supercross league lived up to its hype, delivering edge-of-the-seat racing action as thousands of fans filled the stands. International and Indian riders went head-to-head on a technically demanding track that tested skill, speed, and endurance.
In the 450cc International Class, Matt Moss (Australia) of BigRock Motorsports showcased his experience and control to clinch victory aboard his Kawasaki. The 250cc International Class saw Hunter Schlosser (USA) of BB Racing dominate with precision and power on his Honda, earning loud cheers from the home crowd. In the 250cc India-Asia Mix category, Ben Hallgren (Thailand) of Gujarat Trailblazers crossed the finish line first in a gripping finale.
Adding to the excitement, the Pune round featured a strong lineup of global and home-grown talent, including riders from Australia, France, the USA, South Africa, and Thailand, alongside India’s rising stars Rugved Barguje, Ikshan Shanbhag, and Prajwal Vishwanath. With 36 international athletes from 21 countries, India has firmly positioned itself as a new hub for Supercross racing.
Fans also enjoyed a full-fledged motorsport carnival at the Reise Moto Fan Park, which featured interactive gaming zones, food stalls, live music, and exclusive merchandise — giving families and enthusiasts a complete weekend experience.
Mr. Eeshan Lokhande, Co-founder, ISRL, added:
“Seeing top international riders compete alongside Indian talent on home soil is a defining moment for us. India is no longer a spectator in global motorsports rather it’s becoming a serious competitor. Our vision has always been to build a platform that nurtures young riders, inspires the next generation, and puts India firmly on the global Supercross map.”
Speaking on the success of Round 1, Mr. Veer Patel, Co-founder & Managing Director, ISRL, said:
“The incredible response in Pune once again reaffirms India’s love for racing. The level of competition, the fan energy, and the scale of this event show that motorsport in India is evolving fast. This is not just racing, it’s the start of a new sporting movement that combines entertainment, innovation, and community.”
With Pune setting the pace, the league now moves to Hyderabad for Round 2 on December 6–7, before the grand finale in Kozhikode, Kerala, on December 20–21.
