CDSL invites students to reshape investor learning through Reimagine Ideathon

CDSL has kicked off its first Reimagine Ideathon, an initiative designed to empower students to rethink how India approaches investor education, responsible investing and financial inclusion. The launch is part of the 3rd edition of CDSL’s Reimagine Symposium, its flagship platform for dialogue and innovation.

The Ideathon encourages students to conceptualise ideas that make securities markets accessible and intuitive, helping India progress toward Atmanirbharta in financial literacy. Despite managing the assets of more than 21 crore investor demat accounts, CDSL highlighted that market participation can grow significantly with fresh, youth-driven ideas.

Participants are invited to explore solutions grounded in gamification, behavioural science, design-thinking, technology and community-led engagement. The challenge emphasises three foundational values—Empowerment, Inclusion and Trust.

“Our goal is to reimagine how India invests,” said CDSL MD & CEO Nehal Vora. “This Ideathon reflects our belief that young innovators can unlock the tools and insights that help every citizen participate safely and confidently in the capital markets.”

With a prize pool of ₹11.5 lakh, the Ideathon offers ₹5 lakh to the winning team. Registration opens on 19 November for teams of up to four students and a mentor.

Established in 1999, CDSL has grown to become a globally recognised Market Infrastructure Institution, known for its secure depository services, digital-first solutions and technology-led innovations.
