Setting up a new home has always been a highlight for newlyweds, but this year’s wedding season shows a clear evolution—couples are prioritising appliances that elevate the aesthetic of their living spaces. Kamal Pandit, Head of Design at Godrej’s Appliances Business, says design consciousness is at an all-time high.
Appliances are being treated as part of a home’s style language. Kitchens with open layouts demand refrigerators and microwaves that match cabinetry, while bedrooms call for air conditioners and fans that blend with soft furnishings and colour schemes.
Nature-themed interiors are inspiring a rise in wood-finish ACs and refrigerators, ideal for couples who prefer warm, earthy décor. Meanwhile, modern homes are embracing premium materials such as glass-door refrigerators, brushed metal washing machines, and ACs in unique finishes like champagne gold and soft pastels.
Minimalism remains the leading design philosophy among young couples. Sleek silhouettes and handle-free designs allow appliances to merge with contemporary interior architecture, contributing to a calm, clutter-free environment.
“We are seeing couples choose appliances that reflect their identity,” Pandit said. “Aesthetic excellence paired with smart technology transforms everyday tasks into enjoyable shared experiences.”
