Sustainability Tops Corporate Agendas, but Action Lags: Capgemini Report

Despite global uncertainty, sustainability remains a priority for businesses worldwide, with 82% of organizations planning to boost green investments over the next 12–18 months, according to Capgemini Research Institute’s report A World in Balance 2025. However, execution lags behind ambition—over 70% of companies report climate-driven supply chain disruptions, yet only 21% have detailed transition plans.

Consumer skepticism is also on the rise, with 62% believing firms are greenwashing and more than three-quarters demanding stronger climate action. Meanwhile, AI is emerging as both an enabler and a concern: two-thirds of executives deploy it for sustainability goals, but just one-third are addressing its environmental impact.

Capgemini stresses the need for businesses to move from intent to action, urging leaders to adopt concrete, pragmatic measures to build resilience and secure long-term value in the face of escalating climate risks.
