Vodafone Idea (Vi) will launch its 5G services in Pune from tomorrow, extending its network to the fifth city in Maharashtra. The operator had earlier introduced 5G in Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik, and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
The rollout is part of Vi’s broader expansion plan across its 17 priority circles where it has acquired 5G spectrum. Nationwide, the company has already introduced services in cities such as Delhi-NCR, Bangalore, Mysuru, Chandigarh, Patna, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram.
Pune users with 5G-enabled devices will be able to access the service starting tomorrow. As an introductory offer, Vi is offering unlimited 5G data on plans from ₹299. The company said users can expect enhanced experiences including faster downloads, HD streaming, gaming, video conferencing, and cloud access.
Commenting on the launch, Rohit Tandon, Operations Director, Vodafone Idea, said: “As we launch Vi 5G in Pune, we are excited to bring the future of connectivity to the Queen of the Deccan. With our next-gen 5G alongside our robust 4G services, we aim to provide more options and an enhanced experience to our users. We are committed to systematically expanding our 5G footprint across Maharashtra, in line with growing demand and 5G handset adoption.”
Vi has tied up with Ericsson to deploy advanced, energy-efficient infrastructure in Maharashtra and has implemented AI-powered Self-Organizing Networks (SON) for performance optimization. Alongside 5G, the company has upgraded its 4G network in Maharashtra and Goa, adding spectrum on thousands of sites and strengthening indoor and rural coverage.
