September 10 is observed as Anupam Kher Day in Las Vegas; here’s why
Senator Ruben Kihuen of Nevada proclaimed September 10 as Anupam Kher Day and praised the seasoned actor.
One of Bollywood’s most talented actors, Anupam Kher has won a lot of awards. In recognition of the actor’s exceptional contributions to global film and the arts, September 10 was designated as Anupam Kher Day in Nevada, Las Vegas, in 2015.
Kher wrote, “This happened nine years back today, on 10th Sept 2015. Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai! Jai Ho!!”
Kihuen conveyed his appreciation, praising Kher’s outstanding performances in Las Vegas and other US cities, and said it had been a pleasure to meet and see his extraordinary acting ability in person. Kher’s contributions to film and art had earned him multiple accolades. He received appreciation for his play Mera Woh Matlab Nahin Tha in Houston and fifteen other US and Canadian cities.
Though it’s often said that “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,” Kher noted that this recognition from the State of Nevada would not stay confined to the city but would spread worldwide, including to his beloved India, further solidifying his conviction that “anything is possible in life.”
In addition to his Bollywood work, which is well-known in the US, Kher has acted in Hollywood productions including Mistress of Spices, Bend It Like Beckham, Lust, Caution, and Silver Linings Playbook.
