Acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal backs Apoorva Mukhija amidst the rape threats and hate

Influencer and actor Apoorva Mukhija posted a clip for the first time after witnessing a flurry of backlash after her unfiltered comments on India’s Got Latent went viral. She also clarified that she will be donating the entire amount generated from the video’s reach to a charity working towards the welfare of acid attack survivors, rape and domestic violence victims. Recently, cause has generated endorsement from acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.

Laxmi penned an appreciation post on Instagram for the Apoorva aka Rebel Kid, “Heartfelt gratitude to @the.rebel.kid for her compassionate support to acid attack survivors. The Laxmi Foundation salutes her strength and kindness. We urge everyone to join hands in rebuilding the lives of these incredible individuals. Together, we can make a difference!”

Apoorva meanwhile made a stellar comeback on Instagram on April 8, posting a glimpse of the threats she has been receiving from people on the internet and beyond. She also posted on YouTube with an uncanny title Till I Say It Is, wherein she has posted an open apology for her comments on the show, her wrong discretion, unprecedented backlash faced by her family members and ended with a subtle jibe at the trolls.

She stated, “I want to donate all of the earnings from this video, through my AdSense, to an NGO that helps acid attack victims, rape victims and victims of domestic violence. I was very scared of getting raped. I was very scared of having an acid attack. These are causes I truly care about.”

About the India’s Got Latent controversy

The contentious episode starred Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva, and Ashish Chanchlani among others. As the show went by, Ranveer’s comment on parents raised eyebrows and extreme outrage. Apoorva among other were slammed with number of FIRs and threats.
