Akshay Kumar and Amit Rai begin talks on OMG 3; casting yet to be decided

On May 17, 2025, Akshay Kumar completed filming the much anticipated horror comedy film with ace director Priyadarshan, Bhooth Bangla. The Kerala schedule was initiated recently with Wamiqa Gabbi on board. The crew also shot a song in the period of three days, Interestingly, a director too travelled with Akshay Kumar for the shoot in Kerala at the weekend. Well according to an insider as quoted by Pinkvilla, director Amit Rai had accompanied Akshay to discuss the final leg of Bhooth Bangla.
OMG 3’s scripting stage
The source stated, “Amit Rai had multiple ideas for OMG 3 (Oh My God 3), and he discussed all the plot points with Akshay Kumar throughout the stay. The duo brainstormed on all the ideas, and also discussed possible new routes that could be taken in OMG 3. The intent is to continue with the most loved franchise, and take the third part on floors in 2026.” The source added that the duo vibed well over the course of weekend, and Akshay is now anticipating to receive a fresh draft from Amit.
“Following the success of OMG and OMG 2, the stakes are high and the makers are keen to make a third part. It is a big responsibility, and hence, they are in no hurry to just rush through the process of OMG 3,” the source mentioned. If things get materialised, OMG 3 will be initiated in the second half of 2026, however it also depends on the speed at which the makers are able to craft the final draft and script.
The casting meanwhile will be decided as per the finalisation of the script, however even this part too is most probably touted to be a social dramedy in the courtroom settings.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar is currently shooting for Priyadarshan’s next thriller along with Saif Ali Khan, estimated to be launched in the month of August.
