Bhagnani claimed that in order to acquire more money from him during the production of the high-profile movie, they falsified his signatures and changed his financial records. Additionally, he charged that they had defrauded him and fabricated expenses, resulting in the embezzlement of crores of rupees. According to earlier accounts, the filmmaker even complained to the producers about not getting paid for directing the movie.

When Bhagnani first went to the police in September 2024, his complaint went unanswered. He was forced to go to court thereafter. The court has requested additional proof and legal documents due to the importance of the case and the substantial sum of money at stake. A formal complaint must be submitted under many IPC sections, including 120-B, 406, 420, 465, 468, 471, 500, and 506, in conjunction with Section 34.
