Allu Arjun-starrer expected to surpass SRK’s Jawaan on its opening day

The mass belts have gone into overdrive from the early morning shows, and the Sukumar-directed Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, has gotten off to a fantastic start at the box office. Based on current statistics, the movie is expected to debut at around Rs 60 crore. If the enthusiasm keeps up, it might also reach Rs 65 crore, making it the most grossing premiere of all time.

No movie has had this kind of reception in a long time, particularly at tier 2 and tier 3 theaters. Now that the evening and night shows will essentially be packed houses nationwide, Pushpa 2’s (Hindi) business could take off. It all comes down to capacity. The top three national chains, PVRInox and Cinepolis, have made a total of Rs 21 crore as of Thursday at 3 PM. They are expected to finish between Rs 26.50 and Rs 28.50 crore (NBOC: Rs 23.25 crore).

The film may be approaching the Rs 65 crore milestone on a non-holiday Thursday, since the national chain contribution for the first day is expected to be between 36 and 38 percent. With the exception of the South, where Pushpa 2’s Hindi version receives less exposure, the movie performs essentially better than Jawan at every theater.

Although the first-day record won’t be known till Friday am after actuals are in, Pushpa 2 has surpassed the previous record, Pathaan (Rs 55.75 crore), to become the highest non-holiday launch ever. Additionally, it surpasses the previous record, KGF 2 (Rs 52.40 crore), to become the largest opening of any South Dubbed Hindi film ever.
