Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule’s OTT rights acquired by Netflix at a whopping amount?
Rumors have it that Netflix has acquired the rights to the film’s post-theatrical release in every language.
Pushpa 2: The Rule, which is helmed by Sukumar, is the much-anticipated film that would have Allu Arjun making a comeback on big screens. The highly awaited film is rumored to have been acquired by Netflix for an astounding Rs 270 crores, according to a report published by Aakashavaani.
It is one of the Indian films with such a large digital contract, according to the report, which also says that the makers and the OTT titans signed the arrangement.
The movie’s producer has affirmed that the scheduled release date is when it will hit theaters. The film’s producer had informed that the second half of the project will be finished by September.
For those who missed it, there had been early reports that Allu Arjun and filmmaker Sukumar were at odds, leading to the film’s postponement. Though they were both recently seen together at a movie preview event, the feud was dismissed as mere hearsay.
The follow-up to Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise from 2021, Pushpa 2: The Rule is set to be one of the largest budgets for an Indian film. On December 6, 2024, the film will be released on theaters. The actor will play sandalwood smuggler Pushpa Raj again. There was a great fight between Allu Arjun and Fahadh at the close of the first installment, which left the viewer in cliffhanger.
