Mukesh Ambani is set to host a lavish wedding for his youngest son Anant, who will tie the knot with Radhika Merchant.
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi to grace the event?
According to a Free Press Journal report, PM Modi will be present to bless the couple on their special day. If he does, he will be among the most well-known figures attending the festival that has captured the attention of the globe in recent months. Moreover, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived in Mumbai earlier today to attend the wedding of Anant and Radhika.
In conversation with PTI at the Kolkata airport, the politician said, “I might not have gone (to attend Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding) but all of the family members from Nita ji to Mukesh ji everyone is requesting me to attend the wedding again and again, that is why I am going.” Banerjee further mentioned that she will have a meetup with NCP president Sharad and Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Uddhav Thackeray.
Is Rahul Gandhi expected to arrive at the ceremony?
Gandhi will supposedly miss the event as per an ABP News report. Mukesh Ambani himself went to Congresswoman Sonia Gandhi’s home at 10 Janpath on July 4, 2024, to personally invite her and her son Rahul Gandhi to the wedding, but Rahul Gandhi has always been the least likely to attend. Rahul had been criticizing the Ambanis a lot during his most recent campaign.
Conversely, since Dhirubhai Ambani’s time, Sonia Gandhi’s family has maintained close ties with the Ambanis, and it is said that she will offer her best wishes to the couple shortly after they tie the knot.
The Ambanis have personally invited the Thackeray family, Devendra Fadnavis, and Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde, among other well-known political figures, to the wedding.
