After starring in the 2000 film Kaho Na… Pyaar Hai, Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel shot to fame. The film, which was helmed by Rakesh Roshan, ended up becoming the second most profitable release of that year.
The question was posed to the actress by multiple individuals during an Ask Me Anything session on her Twitter handle. Ameesha Patel penned, “Well, all I can say is with confidence. When the ticket counters are mentally prepared for 60 crores plus opening tab I guess that’s kaho na pyaar hai 2 for you on screens that v day.”

Responding to another fan, she wrote, “Like I already said when the industry is ready for havoc again. Means it’s KAHO na pyaar hai 2 for you.”
Hrithik in a conversation with Pinkvilla mentioned, “I think newcomers should only be cast in the remake as two newcomers were launched with it earlier, in case ever made.”
How was Ameesha Patel casted?
The fact that Rakesh Roshan chose to cast Ameesha opposite Hrithik after first seeing her at a wedding when she was just a teenager will astound everyone. The actress said in a previous interview with Hindustan Times that she and Rakesh attended the same school.
“We were leaving when Rakesh uncle was entering. He did not recognize me and asked my father, ‘Amit who is this pretty young girl with you?’. The funniest thing is that after watching me dance at a common friend’s sangeet when I was 14/15, he expressed his desire to launch me alongside Hrithik,” Ameesha said.
A few days later, Rakesh asked her family to lunch, made her an offer to star in the movie, and she arrived on the set on the fourth day.
She added, “We started with the cruise scene, that’ll always stay with me as a beautiful memory. I got lucky… I don’t think I would’ve asked for any other film to begin my journey.”
After its debut, the film became a huge hit and was even included in the Guinness World Records (2002) and Limca Book of Records (2003) lists for being the most award-winning Bollywood film prior to KNPH. Significant roles in the film were also played by Anupam Kher, Dalip Tahil, and Mohnish Behl, amomg others.
