Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez enjoyed a wholesome moment post their respective Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture. At six in the morning, Grande texted Gomez to congratulate her, revealing that she was among the first to do so.
“It was the sweetest note,” Gomez stated, further mentioning that she received a text from boyfriend, Benny Blanco. “We sent each other voice messages. It was very exciting,” Gomez added.
Both actresses began their careers as child stars and have had lengthy careers in the entertainment business. After making an appearance on Barney, Gomez hit stardom on the Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place.
“I respect her so much, and I’ve always adored her,” Grande said. “I was really happy for her to see us on that list together. It was very special.”
Grande made her debut as Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon’s Victorious. Grande acknowledged that she doesn’t know Gomez as well as she would like to, despite their similar experiences.
“I don’t know Selena as well as I wish I did, so I’m excited to sit next to her today,” she stated.
Isabella Rossellini (Conclave), Margaret Qualley (The Substance), Felicity Jones (The Brutalist), and Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez) are also on the Golden Globe nomination list.
