Baby John could not attract moviegoers to the theaters on its opening day; deets here

Post a mere double-digit opening day on Christmas, Varun Dhawan’s film, Baby John, exploded out of the gates and raised expectations for a blockbuster run.

The tracking website Sacnilk reports that the movie brought in ₹19.65 crore (nett). The movie made ₹11.25 Cr on its first day of release on December 25. There was a 57.78% drop in business, with ₹4.75 crore in registered business. With business of ₹3.65 crore on the third day, the decreasing trend continues, bringing the total to ₹19.65 crore (nett). On Friday, the movie’s overall occupancy rate in Hindi was 9.62%.

Nonetheless, Varun’s largest opener in the previous five years is undoubtedly Baby John. On its first day, his 2019 film Kalank, which also starred Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sonakshi Sinha, brought in ₹21.60 crore. Street Dancer 3D (2020), Jug Jugg Jeeyo (2022), and Bhediya (2022), Varun’s most recent theatrical movies, failed to reach the double-digit opening number.

However, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule provided fierce competition, and the movie was unable to stay up.

The film also featured a cameo of Salman Khan, and starred Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav in prominent roles. In order to raise his daughter in a secure setting, a police officer goes into hiding. However, when her life is in danger, he has to confront his past. Vijay plays the main character in this Theri adaptation, which debuted to a mixed reception.
