BLACKPINK’s Jennie delighted her fans by revealing a sneak peek at the songs from Ruby, her eagerly awaited solo album. It featured Jennie’s red-black-themed album in a two-minute and 39-second clip.
Even though a number of songs were hinted at, “Like Jennie” immediately caught people’s attention as the preview’s high point. The lines completely complemented her persona and matched her identity.
Online conversations were triggered by this song right away, and many fans praised Jennie for her courage in speaking up and taking on hate head-on. The song is also referred to as a self-empowering anthem by others. Unquestionably striking are the lyrics, “Haters, they don’t really like Jennie, ‘cause they can never be Jennie,” and the fans’ responses are exploding.
A user wrote, “My jaw literally dropped when I heard this. Claiming this one so bad, omg!!!” Another added, “I’m jealous; her haters have a song,” and “This sounds fire, OMG.” A comment read, “They can never be like Jennie.”
Ruby, Jennie’s full-length solo album with BLACKPINK, is scheduled to be released on March 7. It will present collaborations with Dua Lipa, Childish Gambino, FKJ, Kali Uchis, and Dominic Fike.
