Blackpink’s Jennie, Rose, Lisa gains criticism for featuring the N-word in their pre-debut videos

Although the YG Leaker’s identity is unknown, they assert that they are a former employee of YG Entertainment with gigabytes of data about the K-pop industry titans.

Famous girl Korean pop band Blackpink is now in hot waters. The use of the “N-word” in their pre-debut videos has drawn criticism. Sensitive information about a number of South Korean singers signed to YG Entertainment was recently exposed by a Discord user posing as a former employee.

The individual posted pre-debut videos of Blackpink members Jennie, Rose, and Lisa on the social media site under the handle “YG Leaker.” They were heard using the vulgar phrase several times in the now-viral videos. Another audience member reported that the MV was unremarkable and that the theaters were deserted.

Fans posted on X, “Out of all the songs ,them saying ones with n word and being fluent in english is nuts like its def a choice Whats going on with yg training.”

While some criticized Blackpink and their agency YG Entertainment. “The 2 of them who grew up in English speaking countries should have known better, right?” a comment read, another added, “Crazy cause jisoo covered a niki minaj song and didn’t slip up and she korean korean.”

A fan mentioned, “Do we really have people defending them saying this is the company fault? Ok, YG could have edited it or talked with them about it; but at least Jennie and Rosé must be totally held accountable for it, they had more than enough global culture to know about the n word.”

A number of other significant South Korean agencies, including SM Entertainment, HYBE Labels, Cube Entertainment, RBW, Blockberry Creative, JYP Entertainment, WM Entertainment, and Starship Entertainment, were also mentioned by the YG leaker. The YG leaker revealed several additional unreleased clips of well-known K-pop bands and idols in addition to Blackpink’s leaked videos.
